Associate Account Representative
Summary:
This position will be responsible for direct mid-stream commercial interaction with key producer/customers and negotiating long term contracts in support of new and existing infrastructure. It will also involve financial and contractual deal structuring and acquisition opportunity identification, evaluation and pursuit.
The position will also involve a good deal of personal initiative, interpersonal and negotiating skills, travel and after hour customer meetings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
- General interaction and support of customers, marketing efforts, etc. with a specific focus on learning the assets and helping to implement customer focused projects, and supporting the resolution of customer focused operational issues.
- Work closely with the crude Commercial team to assure the highest level of service to our customers and assist in the development of new growth projects for the crude business. This involves research of market/industry/customer reports and developing meaningful analysis to advance the opportunity.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with all current customers with contracts on our Texas crude system.
- Assist with the management of all contracts and have a strong understanding of the existing contracts that are key in our business.
- Ability to provide optimization/utilization reports as needed and be able to interpret data in a meaningful way.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
- Work closely with Accounting, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial functions to address cross-departmental issues. In addition, effective communication and coordination with all departments within the company are essential in the role.
- Instrumental in the implementation of new capital expansion projects, to include communication with Operations and Engineering.
- Working with scheduling and LTO on DRA/power efficiency and application
- Financial analysis of large maintenance projects, integrity repairs, etc..
- Support of evaluation/justification for potential new pipeline projects
- Manage primary customer relationships through both normal operations and abnormal events.
- Ensure contracts across all assets are properly documented and communicated to the operations, accounting, and measurement organizations.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years of directly related experience
- Superior working knowledge of Microsoft related products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to develop strong relationships, both internal and external.
- Effective time management, organizational, and leadership skills.
- The candidate should have a good understanding of economics, business fundamentals, and corporate business profitability as well as excellent interpersonal skills required as this position may interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and verbal skills in order to write reports and develop visual models and diagrams for senior management and the corporate organization on a routine basis.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized.
- Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner.
- Ability to handle problems and facilitate successful outcomes.
- Solid understanding of pipeline assets.
- Capacity utilization and pricing, and financial analysis of organic growth capital projects and/or acquisitions.
- Ability to work with other Commercial groups (gas, NGL, oil), Engineering, Legal, Operations, Measurement, Contract Administration and Accounting are key.
