Summary:
Florida Gas Pipeline (FGT) Facility Planning provides a high level of customer service and satisfaction to both internal and external customers. We continue to aggressively compete for both current and new gas supply as well as transport opportunities across the system while collaboratively bringing significant financial benefit to the “Company Bottom Line”
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and maintains pipeline models to support current and potential throughput activities/opportunities.
  2. Provides system planning analysis and cost estimating; supply analysis; define system constraints and determine throughput maximization to optimize the FGT system performance.
  3. Evaluates project alternatives to enhance business opportunities and provide superior customer service; develops project scopes and provides economic evaluation to support Marketing and Operational strategies.
  4.  Acts as a liaison/coordinator to Marketing, Gas Control, Market Services, Operations, Regulatory, Engineering and Construction and Legal, as well as other existing internal and external customers.
  5.  Evaluates and makes recommendations to optimize gas flow through available receipt / delivery points.
  6. Produces Weekly, Monthly and Yearly reports, and presentation material related to Planning activities and system flow.
  7. Maintains various facility updates within the various Planning and associated company systems.

 


 

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  1. Engineering degree and operational / technical experience in gas pipeline design/operations. 
  2. Knowledge of engineering principles and practices for analysis related to Pipeline, Compression and Gas Measurement
  3. Must be self-motivated and possess initiative to recognize, analyze and recommend alternative solutions to problems and issues.
  4. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel both internally & externally.
  5. Proficiency with PC and various software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Cad, etc.)
  6. Must be able to work under tight, multi-conflicting deadlines in a constantly changing environment. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities:

  1. Having a broad knowledge of company functions (Regulatory, Financial, Marketing, Market Services, Operations, Engineering and Construction, Gas Control, etc.) a plus. 
  2. Knowledge and proficiency with steady state, transient and online pipeline simulation software a plus.

Working Conditions:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

  1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional travel with potential for working during evening and weekend hours with little or no notice.
  4. Occasional visits to industrial settings which may include extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery and require appropriate personal protective equipment.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Engineer level requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 3-6 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Associate Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience.
