Energy Transfer is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States. In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 120,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids pipelines, terminals, and acquisition and marketing assets which are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and refined products.

Summary:

Our Accounting Department is seeking dynamic, personable, and professional Accounting Interns for the 2025 summer. Departments including accounting systems, financial reporting, fixed assets, operational accounting and shared services.  

This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2025. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.  

This position offers the opportunity for an undergraduate engineering student to gain knowledge and work experience by supporting the operations & technical groups at our Icedale Office in Honey Brook, PA where Energy Transfer manages our regulatory required pipeline integrity program which includes the inspection and repairs of pipelines and facilities in the Eastern US.  The candidate would work with our Integrity Engineers, Project Managers, Corrosion Group, Operations and the Field Organizations with an ultimate goal of understanding and documenting asset integrity and making recommendations for future assessments and the development of preventive & mitigative (P&M) measures to reduce risk. The candidate is required to have good analytical skills perform calculations and diagnose problems, have good communication skills to facilitate cooperation between different functional groups, be able to identify multiple alternatives and/or recommendations for a given problem, as well as facilitate the implementation of solutions.

  • Work with the Integrity Engineers to review various pipeline segments and their status of outstanding inspections
  • Evaluate Integrity Assessments and facilitate Pipeline and Facility P&M measures
  • Assist in the develop of tracking tools to help Integrity group monitor key process variables.
  • Optimize operations start-of-shift data rounds.
  • Assist in evaluations of in-line assessment tool data
  • Assist in troubleshooting of day-to-day issues and brainstorm potential solutions.
  • Assist in populating document records database for existing and new assessments.
  • Organize project documentation & information (hard-copy files, network folders, intranet sites).
  • Assist in coordination of facility siting audit reviews
  • Work with our Field Organization to learn various pipeline repair methods, in-field inspection techniques and anomaly evaluations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate student in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred (Petroleum Engineering acceptable).
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative.
  • Position requires the ability to balance multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to shift established priorities in response to changing business needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound organizational skills.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Competent with personal computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Special Considerations

Previous summer work experience, college laboratory experience, and/or familiarity with process equipment (pumps, valves, compressors, process control systems).
