Intern - Legal
Energy Transfer is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States. The company owns and operates approximately 120,000 miles of pipelines, terminals, and related assets for natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids. These assets are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas, NGLs, and refined products.
Summary
Energy Transfer’s Legal Department is seeking a motivated intern to work alongside our General Counsel and professional staff during the summer program. This internship provides exposure to a wide range of legal matters, including litigation, commercial transactions, regulatory issues, real property, financial reporting, contracts, compliance, and corporate governance.
Program Details:
Paid internship program lasting up to 12 weeks, beginning May 2026. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with plans to attend law school, or currently pursuing a JD.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The program will provide interns with opportunities to:
· Contribute to challenging projects that support the Legal Department’s priorities and objectives.
· Gain cross-functional knowledge and hands-on experience across multiple areas of the department.
· Develop professional skills through ongoing training and mentorship.
· Interact with and gain exposure to senior leadership.
Requirements
Education & Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with plans to attend law school, or currently pursuing a JD.
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed at least one year of law school.
Candidates currently in an undergraduate or graduate program who have been accepted to law school beginning in Fall 2026 may also be considered.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and collaboration skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
High attention to detail.
