Summary:
The Senior Accountant position provides research and guidance for the interstate gas and common carrier companies on regulatory accounting matters. The Senior Accountant will assist in our compliance efforts through reporting, reviewing and approving account mappings, training and reviewing current processes and procedures. The position offers the opportunity to interact with various management teams and their staffs on a variety of accounting subject matters.
- Facilitate creation and maintenance of SAP reports to enhance regulated accounting compliance
- Review and approve new account mapping to regulatory accounts
- System Administrator of XBRL regulatory filing module and departmental SharePoint site
- Research and document accounting issues regarding GAAP guidance as applied to regulated accounting and document FERC to GAAP differencesReview current processes and procedures for compliance with the regulatory guidance and industry guidelines
- Respond to ad hoc requests and special projects as required
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- MS Excel and Word proficient
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA preferred
- SAP software experience
- Report writing and maintenance a plus (Analysis for Office, BPC, TM1)
- MIS – management information system degree with an emphasis on accounting
