Summary:  Performs fixed asset accounting responsibilities for interstate pipeline assets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Prepare monthly depreciation and amortization entries.
  • Review Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) to validate that the project should be treated as a capital expenditure.

  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts by projecting depreciation and certain O&M expenses.

  • Monitor and review Construction in Process (CIP) and work closely with field personnel to ensure timely in service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications.

  • Perform monthly roll forward and other close out schedules.

  • Invoice project costs as required by construction contracts.

  • Perform reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting of capital expenditures for audit support.

  • Support quarterly financial and SOX audits.

  • Support FERC rate cases and FERC audits

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of charges and timeliness of closure to fixed assets.

  • Maintain fixed asset records including additions, retirements, and book depreciation for multiple companies.



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting. Fixed assets accounting experience preferred.
  • Motivated dependable self-started
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good customer relations & interpersonal skills.
  • Solid time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organization skills.


Software Knowledge:


 Microsoft Excel and Word, SAP experience a plus;  prior experience with PowerPlant or other fixed asset system required

Working Conditions:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.

2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonger periods of sitting or standing.

3. Occasional overtime required.
