Job Summary:

Crude Oil Quality Analyst will support various quality control, operations, and reporting functions. This position is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of data collection, reporting, and trend analysis related to quality events, batch data, and crude quality management. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to provide essential insights, support decision-making, and maintain data integrity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect daily batch data and generate summaries, trends, metrics, and statistics for review by internal teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports, including gathering data, producing reports, and distributing them to involved parties.
  • Provide regular updates to managers and senior specialists on ongoing investigations and corrective measures.
  • Maintain timely and accurate data entry, ensuring all relevant information is available for decision-making.
  • Compare batch data with schedules and expectations to ensure alignment and provide data insights to managers and specialists. Maintain/organize proper documentation and provide recommendations for handling of failed blends, off-spec and/or non-complaint batches.
  • Assist with investigations into quality events. Track and ensure accuracy of data entered into IMS for quality event investigations and corrective actions, to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure that all sampling and testing activities are conducted in a timely manner and provide results to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with scheduling, as well as providing necessary updates, for the West TX Scheduling and Quality Monthly Forecast meetings.
  • Gather data for optimization, review inbound and outbound streams, and connect carriers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain an inventory of X-ray testing  equipment and ensure compliance with required state registrations, collaborating with the H&S group as needed.
  • Collect data on new crude types and leases, assist in feasibility decisions, and ensure accurate reporting for approval or denial of requests.
  • Organize and prepare Notices of Violation (NOVs) and other related documents, ensuring adherence to standard formats.
  • Monitor SCADA trends to ensure proper valve alignment during system movements, assisting in optimization of moves and batch placement when possible.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of experience in data analysis, quality control, or operational support role, preferably within the energy or oil and gas industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large datasets and identify trends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with data management and incident reporting systems is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems and crude quality processes is a plus.
