Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Petroleum, Natural Gas, Industrial, Process) is required. 
  • Candidate must be a self-starter, have good organizational skills and be able to accept constantly changing priorities with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8, API, and AGA.  Industry experience in engineering, design, and operation of natural gas transmission systems.
  • Must be able to manage time, work in a team environment and assist team members as required. 
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a wide range of contacts including technical, operations, risk management, contractors, vendors, attorneys, and various levels of management.  
  • Candidate must have a proven safe driving record.
  • Required to take & pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to a background check. (New hire only)
  • Required to adhere and is subject to all U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol related regulations and testing.
  • Must live within :45 min of the work location 

 Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Sr. Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of relevant job-related experience.
  • The Staff Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in oil and gas pipeline industry is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, regulatory agency data entry and other company software programs.
  • Ability to prepare concise and complete written reports for management and project documentation.
  • Must possess the ability to integrate commercial and technical requirements to successfully develop projects from origination to completion, including required completion documentation.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments with deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Requires a high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and ability to work effectively with all levels of co-workers.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Position requires approximately 50% travel. 
  • The Division Pipeline Engineer is required to live within 45 minutes of the reporting location.
  • Incumbent is subject to extended workdays and/or workweeks.
  • Required to carry a cell phone and is subject to 24-hr/day callout at any time for emergency response.
  • Ability to travel is required and may be extensive at times.
  • Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
  • Paid relocation negotiable.
