SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 8,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer’s specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond tradition manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.


Essential Functions:

  • Self-Motivated individual with a high regard for integrity.

  • Perform Skilled Mechanical duties involving operations, troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing 
    natural gas engines, compressors, generators and other power driven equipment.

  • Inspect engines, compressors and mechanical equipment: diagnose problems and 
    determine extent of necessary repairs; perform repairs and routine preventative maintenance.

  • Detailed awareness of compressor components including: lubrication systems, shutdown systems, loading and unloading valves, pistons, valves and electrical systems.

  • General upkeep of facilities and equipment including: engines/compressors, company vehicle and shop

  • Able to support existing on call schedule, overtime may be required.

  • Must be team oriented, self-motivated with a strong commitment to safety, compliance and environmental policies and mechanical reliability.

  • Perform supporting duties within team area of responsibility including compressor and engine maintenance and overhaul support as required.

Essential Requirements: Experience, Educational & Special Training Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least two to four years of experience of practical, mechanical, experience working on rotating equipment

  • Upkeep and replacement of pipeline valves, actuators and pumps

  • Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills, and a record of very positive work performance

  • Read and understand repair manuals, procedures and standards

  • Maintain and adhere to required Company Training, Company Policies and Procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Computer skills including spreadsheet and word processing applications preferred.

  • Work well with others and also be able to perform work independently.

  • Vocational Tech certificates or equipment specific training preferred


    Special Characteristics/Job Requirements:

  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Dynamic, fast-paced, demanding environment

  • Work extended hours as required in emergencies, on projects or outages.

  • This position will require overtime, weekends, nights, holiday and on-call schedule

    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    •           Lifting up to 75 lbs. occasionally

    •           Driving, walking, and standing frequently

    •           Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting

    •           Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment

    •           Occasional overnight travel may be required
