Summary: Perform fixed asset accounting responsibilities for interstate pipeline group.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Prepare monthly depreciation and amortization entries.

  • Review Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) to validate that the project should be treated as a capital expenditure.

  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts related to fixed assets as needed.

  • Monitor and review Construction in Process (CIP) for impairment and work closely with field personnel to ensure timely in service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications.

  • Perform monthly roll forward and other close out schedules.

  • Provide leadership and direction to other fixed assets personnel.

  • Perform reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting of capital expenditures and consolidating asset schedules for multiple companies for audit support.

  • Support quarterly financial and SOX audits.

  • Provide analysis and consultation in support of FERC rate cases and FERC audits.

  • Provide technical FERC and GAAP accounting guidance.

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of charges and timeliness of closure to fixed assets.

  • Maintain fixed asset records including additions, retirements, and book depreciation for multiple companies.

  • Participate in special projects as required.




Bachelor's degree in Accounting

8+ years of experience in Regulated Fixed Assets Accounting


  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong organizational & analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Motivated, dependable self-starter with good customer and team skills
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Natural Gas related property required

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA Certification preferred

Software Knowledge:

Microsoft Excel and Word, SAP experience a plus;  prior experience working within PowerPlant, SAP or other fixed asset system required.

Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.

2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3. Occasional travel may be required.
