Summary


This position will take on leadership duties within the NGL Product Movement scheduling team by being the key contact for external customers, field operations, measurement, quality, accounting and business development.

This position will work closely with the daily pipeline schedulers, terminals, connecting pipelines, measurement, quality and accounting to accurately schedule, track and invoice NGL’s. 

 

After monthly close this position will analyze shipper statements and contracts to confirm accurate billing, process required inventories on all systems and work with the daily schedulers to maintain operational inventories. This will include monthly balancing of systems book to physical inventories.  This position will be the point person for internal and external customers to resolve all shipper’s concerns.     

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Work with monthly scheduler to process monthly nominations from shippers from Transport4 and enter into Synthesis to allow for custody transfer tickets to get created. 
  • Work with monthly schedulers and accounting to accurately and timely close out accounting systems.
  • Work with monthly schedulers to implement proration policies when necessary.  Review accounting close statements to confirm proper billing and shipper required inventory assignments.                
  • Update systems as needed with shipper nomination changes due to various reasons.   
  • Maintain systems book to physical positions.
  • Calculate system required inventories and maintain balances by working with the daily pipeline schedulers.
  • Assist the Daily schedulers with monitoring Shipper Product Balances and be the primary contact for resolving ticketing issues that may be identified by the Shipper Community.
  • Work closely with Systems Data Specialist and the Synthesis team to ensure locations and tariffs are entered correctly into Synthesis.
  • Works with data analyst and daily schedulers in developing and maintaining all SOX documentation and will be an active participant in SOX audits.

Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • College degree preferred or 5-7 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the Pipeline Scheduling Cycle (nominations, proration, daily scheduling and accounting close)
  • General knowledge of NGL pipelines and NGL tank farm operations.
  • Must have general knowledge of how the system’s product flows to accurately calculate required inventories.
  • Must be familiar with Pipeline Tariffs, pipeline rules and regulations, throughput deficiencies, connection agreements and operating agreements
  • Must have general knowledge of system’s product flow for accurate billing.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office and must be trainable to learn business applications associated with position (PFIS, Transport4 and Synthesis).
  • Background in NGL’s, pipeline operations, pipeline scheduling and accounting
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision; detail oriented.
  • Ability to organize, perform and prioritize various functions in a fast paced environment meeting time sensitive deadlines.
  • Must be a team player, and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to lead a group of Schedulers and have the ability to facilitate conversations with internal and external customers in all aspects of the business.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours in the event of a project start up and emergency upset.
Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions. 
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required. 
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
