  • Associates Degree in GIS or equivalent experience, 8+ years of experience with ESRI ArcGIS Platforms.   knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS 10.x desktop software and ArcGIS Online, with an in-depth understanding of pipeline systems and a good general knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • In-depth knowledge of the SQL query language and database organization and maintenance is required.
  • Good communication skills required for a large amount of in-person and online training for use of applications and data output from the GIS database.
  • Knowledge of CFR Parts 192 and 195 regarding the calculation of Class Areas on natural gas pipelines and determination of High Consequence Areas on both natural gas and liquids pipelines.
  • The Lead Technical GIS Specialist reports to the Senior Manager of GIS, Ops-Tech Services.  The Lead Tehcnical GIS Specialist, through direct action, supports all field divisions, the engineering department and utilizes the business unit’s Geospatial Information System (GIS) in support of specialized mapping and pipeline integrity objectives.  Ability to convey GIS/spatial information to non-GIS personnel – either written, oral or cartographic.
  • Use provided programs to solve problems utilizing the GIS database.  ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS and Python are a plus.  Knowledge in Microsoft PowerBI and Safe Software FME software desired.
