Summary:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator/Pipeline Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment and performing maintenance, repairs, and monitoring of pipeline systems. Experience in pipeline operations, pipeline ROW maintenance, equipment handling, and safety compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dozers, skid steers, etc.) for pipeline maintenance and construction.
- Assist in excavation, installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of pipelines and related infrastructure.
- Assist with performing pipeline integrity evaluations to ensure compliance with Federal safety regulations.
- Monitor and report potential leaks, damages, or abnormalities in pipeline systems.
- Follow all company and industry safety protocols, including all local, state and Federal environmental and regulatory laws, rules and regulatory requirements.
- Work within a team environment to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain and service equipment based on OEM requirements and best practices to ensure proper operation/functionality.
- Complete documentation and reports related to pipeline inspections and equipment operation. (OSHA, DOT/PHMSA, EPA, etc.)
- Safely load/unload, secure, and transport pipeline construction equipment to and from specified job locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel for vehicle prior to operation.
- Perform daily electronic pre/post trip equipment inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines.
- Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines.
- Perform basic pipeline construction tasks
- Adhere to all company rules, policies, and procedures
- Actively participate and provide leadership in safety programs and initiatives and follow policies and procedures
Required Education:
· High school diploma or GED
Required qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
- Must pass a current DOT physical
- Must possess and maintain a D.O.T. Medical Certificate and meet FMCSA Medical Standards
- Minimum of five years verifiable equipment operating experience
- Must reside within 1 hour of reporting office location
- Class A CDL
Required education or minimum level:
- High School Diploma or GED
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- Level C requires a minimum of 0–2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Level B requires a minimum of 2–4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks associated with various types of facilities and equipment
· Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer-based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation
· Certifications in pipeline safety or heavy equipment operation.
· Previous experience in the oil and gas, utilities, or construction industry.
· Previous experience working on slip repairs and geohazards.
Working Conditions and Requirements:

- Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
- Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
- Frequent heavy lifting with and without assistance
- Work on and around equipment and facilities that require knowledge of and adherence to safe work procedures and practices
- Subject to callouts to respond to operational issues and emergencies after working hours, at night, and on weekends and holidays
- Reliable attendance at work
- Overnight travel may be required up to 50% of the time
- Required to possess or be able to obtain DOT medical card
- Will be required to work at heights and within below grade excavations.
