Energy Transfer is a master limited partnership that owns and operates one of the largest and most diversified portfolios of energy assets in the United States. In total, the Company owns and operates approximately 120,000 miles of natural gas, crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids pipelines, terminals, and acquisition and marketing assets which are used to facilitate the purchase and sale of crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and refined products.

This position will provide process engineering support to the following assets:

·       Marine NGL export facility with over 500k bbl/d export capacity

·       8 NGL Fractionation Plants with a combined capacity over 1.15 million bbl/d

·       60+ million barrels of salt dome storage capacity

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide process engineering support for the Nederland NGL export terminal and Spindletop storage facilities located near Nederland, TX
  • Provide process engineering support for NGL fractionation plants, salt cavern storage, and terminal operations located in Mont Belvieu, TX
  • Work with plant Operations personnel and Engineering group members to analyze and improve existing processes to maximize productivity, reduce operating costs, improve profitability, and comply with regulations and engineering standards.
  • Implement entire project life cycle for small to mid-size maintenance and capital growth projects including scope development, design, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and project completion.
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationship with Operations, Project Managers, Outside Contractors, Environmental, and Safety personnel
  • Work closely with Project Directors/Managers responsible for development and execution of large scale plant projects
  • Work with Business Development/Commercial in the development of optimization, debottlenecking, and growth projects.
  • Take part in PSM activities for area facilities. (maintain facility drawings, resolve PHA action items, etc.)
  • Maintain facility process simulations and work with other process engineers to develop process solutions while following engineering standards, code compliance, company and safety standards, and good engineering practices.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to broaden and deepen process engineering and project management knowledge base and proficiencies.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A BS degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Chemical, Natural Gas, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a process engineer in oil/gas or related industry
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills 
  • Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suites applications
  • Proficiency utilizing Engineering Process Simulation Programs (ProMax, Hysys, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with NGL/LPG facilities
  • Experience developing and executing projects inside PSM facilities
  • 5+ years of experience in midstream sector

Job level to be commensurate with experience:

·     The Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of relevant job-related experience

·     The Sr. Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 6-10 years of relevant job-related experience

·     The Staff Engineer level requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant job-related experience

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Normal office working conditions and field work
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment will occur.
