Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position is listed below:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
- 3- 7 years of experience as counsel (law firm experience in the energy pipeline commercial transactions practice area is ideal) in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commercial transactions background with pipeline industry experience preferred
- Some state regulatory (e.g. Texas and LA regulatory agencies applicable to intrastate pipelines, gathering and processing) and FERC-regulated pipeline experience is helpful (e.g. FERC Section 311(a)(2) regulations applicable to intrastate transmission pipelines)
- Strong writing skills
- Joint Venture experience helpful
- In-house experience helpful
- Strong academic credentials and previous training in respected law firm or corporate legal department required
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and able to work as a member of a busy team

- Usually, normal office working conditions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
