Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • A Degree in Chemistry or Science and/or equivalent industry experience 
  •  8+ years in the oil & gas industry, refinery optimization, crude test lab or related fields.
  • Knowledge of crude oil and other petroleum product characteristics, ASTM and API test methods/standards and pipeline logistics.
  • Must have highly developed analytical, statistical and computer skills.
  • Must be a “team player” and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills, to be able to effectively communicate information to shippers, both internal and external customers, other departments and management.
  • Must obtain and carry a TWIC Card.
  • Must carry cell phone during off hours and be available to coordinate mitigation of blending and quality issues.
  • Traveling to the sites will be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to represent Energy Transfer at relevant industry meetings.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Normal office working conditions with approximately 50% of the time in the field.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Position is based in industrial settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
