Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

    • Experience with crude oil, ship/barge docks, storage terminals and petroleum operations required. 
    • Knowledge of marine, pipeline and terminal operations, with an emphasis on crude oil operations.
    • Specific knowledge of tanks, pumps, meters, samplers, provers, valves and associated equipment.
    • Able to interact with customers, inspectors, contractors, other department employees and regulatory agencies.
    • Emergency response training and experience.
    • Works a 12 hour, rotating shift and is subject to 24 hour, 7 days per week on call availability.
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to comply with and enforce Company safety policies and procedures.
    • Must have excellent PC skills and be proficient with applicable software applications.
    • Ability to climb storage tanks and ladders, work safely in hazardous environments and the ability to respond to emergency situations as required.
    • Must possess knowledge of DOT regulations including Operator Qualification (OQ) requirements.
    • 8+ years of experience

    Preferred Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, however, pertinent experience may be substituted for college credits/degree.
    • Petroleum measurement knowledge and supervisory experience preferred.
    • DOT, EPA, USCG, OSHA, API, Texas GLO, and TCEQ knowledge a plus.
    • Marine / dock operations experience.

    Special Considerations:

         This position will be responsible for supporting the hiring and staffing process for the entire terminal facility.

    • Position subject to being on call 24 hours, 7 days per week.
    • Ability to respond to emergency situations as required. 

    Working Conditions:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

    • Usually, normal office working conditions.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
