This position will be responsible for the monthly close process and account reconciliations.  This position will be responsible for miscellaneous invoicing and following-up on aged A/R aged balances.  The position will need to be filled with a flexible individual who will be receiving various journal requests from other departments in the company.  This is to include audit requests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation and posting of monthly close journal entries
  • Ensuring accuracy of inter-company to include monthly reconciliation and journal entry re-class
  • Miscellaneous invoicing to external customers
  • Support business partner inquires, forward missing invoices and customer ad-hoc research.
  • Preform research and manipulate large volumes of transaction data.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual audit process as requested
  • Maintain SOX internal control process
  • Prepare account reconciliations, identifying and explaining significant outstanding items
  • Ad hoc requests by internal management
  • Support all departments with various internal journal entry posting requests

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Sound understanding of accounting practices and principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in use of Excel and Word
  • Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods
  • Must adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior when carrying out job responsibilities
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented individual
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • SAP, Salesforce and PDI knowledge is a plus

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Accountant - GL level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • The Accountant - GL level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 2-5 years of relevant experience.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
  2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  3. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
