Position Summary
SEC Energy Products & Services L.P. is seeking a highly driven Accountant to join our accounting team in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, takes strong ownership of their work, and is motivated by continuous improvement.
The Accountant will support the accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for Energy Transfer’s SEC compression, technical services, and parts businesses. This position works closely with the Accounting Supervisor and is responsible for accounts receivable activities, contract administration, reconciliations, and key components of the month-end close process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities include:
• Execute contract entry and validation with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Prepare and process customer invoicing for assigned accounts, ensuring timeliness and compliance
• Research, analyze, and support cash application activities, resolving discrepancies efficiently
• Assist with GR/IR analysis and reconciliation, identifying issues and driving resolution
• Research and support parts Goods-In-Transit (GIT) activities
• Assist with the annual budgeting process, including data preparation and analysis
• Support the month-end close process, meeting aggressive timelines with minimal supervision
• Perform balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving anomalies
• Prepare, post, and review journal entries with a focus on accuracy and audit readiness
• Support internal and external audits, responding promptly and thoroughly to requests
• Assist with tracking, analysis, and reporting of capital projects
• Provide cross-functional support for core accounting processes during absences
• Ensure strict adherence to company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards
• Perform additional duties as business needs evolve

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Experience: 2-5 years of accounting in manufacturing / fabrication
• Required Skills: SAP knowledge and experience required
• Required Skills: Proficiency in Excel required
• Technical Skills: Experience with Power BI is preferred

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing
