Summary:

Sunoco LP is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to support daily purchasing operations across assigned categories and materials. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services, while maintaining strong internal stakeholder and vendor relationships.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in executing purchase orders, managing vendor communication, and collaborating with internal teams such as Inventory, Operations, and Accounts Payable. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred), and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Purchasing

  • Release purchase orders for materials, services, and supplies in alignment with procurement policies and approved budgets.
  • Monitor open orders and expedite deliveries to meet operational timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and support compliance with audit requirements.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Route vendor set up requests to business partner support for set up and communicate to business stakeholders
  • Work closely with AP to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment processing.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Engineering teams to understand procurement needs and lead time requirements.
  • Support procurement reporting, compliance verification, and spend tracking as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with purchasing and inventory reports.
  • Knowledge of purchasing best practices and vendor negotiation fundamentals.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
