Summary:
 

This position is responsible for the operation of compressors, motors, cooling equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines and other related gas processing equipment. This position ensures the cost effective and efficient operation of gas processing and treating units and associated equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Performs regularly scheduled inspections, on a continuous basis, of terminal equipment and systems.
  • Maintains records as to the operating status of all Terminal equipment, advises his supervisor of any malfunctions encountered and assists in the repair of same, as necessary. Performs minor repairs and troubleshooting and initiates work orders for necessary maintenance work on equipment.
  • Operates, as necessary, all fire prevention and control equipment to control and/or extinguish fires during absence of fire-fighting team.
  • Assists and/or relieves the Senior Controller in the monitoring and control of the Terminal equipment and systems from the central control room. Performs those duties normally assigned to the Senior Controller.
  • Makes pre-start checks of all equipment in the Terminal before it is placed into service. Makes a shutdown check of all operating equipment when it is removed from service.
  • Coordinates or performs tests of all safety and fire detection and prevention equipment within the Terminal in conjunction with safety personnel.
  • Prepares plant equipment for maintenance, following all prescribed safety procedures and instructions of the Operating Supervisor.
  • Performs housekeeping activities: Cleans up assigned area and other activities are required by Operating Supervisor
  • Assists in the docking of LNG cargo ships and connecting of the unloading arms, observes the cargo transfer from the dock monitor house or the ship's cargo control room.
  • Work with ET Environmental Specialist to administer the company’s environmental processes and procedures.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly environmental inspections.
  • Conduct PMs as required (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to sample, dispose and track shipments of waste.
  •  Assist Training Coordinator with tracking and updating training records, environmental compliance and PHMSA training records.
  • Assist  I/E  as needed by:

1.        Helping to perform loop checks.

2.        Monitoring and testing various gas detectors, ion Detectors, low temperature detectors, and UV detectors.

3.        Performing annual RV and Vacuum Breaker Testing.

Required Education:
  • High school diploma or GED

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent work experience
Required Qualifications:
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license in state of residency
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group environment
  • Demonstrated self- starter with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, shift rotations, and perform call outs
  • Must be able to react to high stress/emergency situations in a deliberate, thoughtful, and timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to learn and perform operation and maintenance tasks associated with various types of facilities and equipment
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.
  • HIMI software operations experience

  1. Frequent exposure to heat, cold, and other adverse weather conditions
  2. Working conditions may include confined spaces
  3. Repetitively standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching over shoulder height, and climbing ladders up to 25 feet.  Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs with or without assistance
  4. Work in and around industrial and construction settings, which may include hazardous products, processes, materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and may require appropriate personal protective equipment
  5. Reliable attendance at work
  6. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
