Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. Summary:

This position will report to Sr. Manager HES and will be in Wichita, Kansas.  Will support company goals and objectives related to all elements of PSM, Industrial Hygiene, regulatory compliance, safety auditing, contractor safety and training for refined products and anhydrous ammonia assets.  Work to develop consistency across the region in the development and application of company PSM procedures and safety policies.  Work individually and as part of the safety team to support and provide customer service to Field Safety and Operations personnel.  Assist with the management of company safety programs and with the development of company standard operating procedures (SOP) and training programs.  Assist with the creation and adherence to all PSM regulations and policies.  Assist with or lead PSM incident investigation as needed.

Travel requirements may range from 20%-30% depending on business needs.  May be assigned specific areas of responsibility but will work in all areas of safety as required by needs of the department. Performs other duties as required/assigned to support department goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Operations Safety Representatives as needed.
  • Participate in PSM Compliance audits and PHA reviews.
  • Perform employee training on PSM elements as required.
  • Coordinates with regional MOC coordinators as needed.
  • Conduct/assist with PSM incident and accident investigations as needed.
  • Work with PSM facilities to develop and maintain company PSM SOP in compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Field Safety Specialists and Representatives to build consistency in the understanding and application of company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the MOC process by identifying change, initiating the eMOC process, and ensuring proper hazard review/evaluations and follow-ups of action items to completion.
  • Enters and tracks Quarterly Hazard Audit action items on company software program.
  • Assist in managing Industrial Hygiene program for the region.
  • Responsible for submitting Sara Title III Tier II program reporting.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • 2-5 years Oil/Gas or petrochemical safety experience in progressive positions or equivalent operational experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial safety or related field, or progressive experience to demonstrate knowledge and leadership abilities preferred.
  • Computer skills: office applications and risk management applications.
  • Effective communications skills and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of the company.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn company computer-based programs.
  • Experience in the development of company Safety and compliance procedures and documents.
  • Organizational skills.
