Intern – M&A / Growth Analytics
Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2026. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
Summary
The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Intern will work closely with the M&A team to support research, analysis, and evaluation of fuel distribution acquisition opportunities for the company. This role provides hands-on experience in market analysis, financial modeling, and deal support, offering valuable exposure to the strategic and financial aspects of business growth through acquisitions.
The intern will assist in researching markets and potential acquisition targets, conducting competitive and financial analyses, and helping prepare materials used in deal evaluations and leadership presentations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
During the internship, responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Support the M&A team in identifying and evaluating potential acquisition targets that align with company strategy and growth objectives.
- Conduct market and competitor research, including customer trends, regional dynamics, and regulatory environments.
- Assist in building and maintaining financial models to evaluate acquisition targets, including cash flow projections, synergy estimates, and capital needs.
- Prepare summaries and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Participate in due diligence activities, helping to organize and track information from cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with internal partners in Legal, Finance, and Operations to support deal execution and integration planning.
- Provide analytical and administrative support for special projects and strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Administration, or Marketing.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, with a focus on data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with financial analysis, with a willingness to learn SQL and modeling techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with guidance.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a strong work ethic.
