Summary: 

The IT SAP Position is primarily responsible to drive transformational digital initiatives within the organization. These efforts are at the forefront of streamlining processes and enabling real-time metrics for improved decision making. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth analysis skills, business knowledge, and technical expertise to implement effective solutions and provide support services to end users. Additional responsibilities include managing the development and maintenance of system documentation, procedures, and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

Problem Resolution: 

  • Research production problems and/or enhancement issues and make appropriate configuration changes to the system. Initiate action and evaluate issues to develop alternative solutions. Apply expert knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Conduct day-to-day troubleshooting and break-fix activities. Provide telephone support to share in the 24x7 365 day support of SAP production system.
  • Key member of the SAP Reporting team responsible for the technical design, configuration, and validation of the SAP solutions.
  • Collaborate with other teams responsible for related functional areas ((Record to Report, Plan to Produce, Quote to Cash) and technical teams (Basis, Security, Development, Integration).
  • Log issues and maintain status in issue tracking system for prioritizing work and reporting status.

Continuous Improvement and Efficiency Projects:

  • Interact with all levels of business to analyze business requirements/processes.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the business on various approaches by explaining industry best practices for business processes and executing solutions. Recommend and implement approved process improvements or new functionality.
  • Provide assessment of solution options with associated business and technology impact, along with estimates for delivery. 
  • Translate functional requirements into detailed SAP technical specifications and coordinate with functional team for solution design and development
  • Configure SAP and develop/perform unit tests in accordance with specifications.
  • Good knowledge of SAP releases and patches, including applying OSS notes. 

Knowledge Transfer/Mentor:

  • Develop and conduct SAP training and knowledge transfer to business clients.
  • Proactively train other IT resources to further develop their understanding of SAP application configuration and business processes.

SOX Compliance

  • Ensure that changes/enhancements are completed using appropriate SOX control processes.  Recommend/implement SOX change control process changes as necessary

Requirements: 
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 8+ years of related experience, including 2 SAP full project life cycle implementations.  
  • 5+ years in Designing and Developing Analytic applications using SAP Analytics Cloud and / or SAP Datasphere
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP BW, ECC, S/4 and SAC and its data structures
  • Expertise in S/4HANA Analytics, including CDS Views Development, SAP HANA Cloud, or HANA 2.0, and SAP BW/4HANA.
  • Good understanding of all the SAP Analytics technology (SAP Analytics Cloud, BW4/HANA).
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP Analytic Cloud Advanced Story Design options, SAP Analytics Cloud predictive capabilities, augmented analytics, forecasting, etc.
  • Understanding of defining the data models in SAP Datasphere, integrations of SAP and non-SAP systems, advantages, and disadvantages of different modelling options.
  • Good understanding on data visualization and data modelling best practices.
  • Ability to design and implement complex dataflows.
  • Good Understanding of SAP Analytic Cloud, Analytics Designer and advanced options using scripting capabilities.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Senior IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
  • The Principal IT Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 10+ years of relevant job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python coding skills, and knowledge of Rest APIs is beneficial.
  •  Knowledge in SQL, R scripting, and JavaScript.
  • Previous experience in Midstream Oil & Gas industry is a plus
  • SAP Certification is a plus

Working Conditions: 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.  
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.  
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
