Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

Summary

The Operations Zone Manager is responsible for oversight of six or more Fleet locations including: Fleet Supervision, Drivers, Mechanics and Transportation equipment.  This position is directly responsible for the daily transportation operation including safety & security of the Fleet, expense management, administering labor agreements, utilization of transportation automation systems, ensuring quality and proper handling of all products, and compliance with local, state and federal requirements.  Candidate can be located anywhere in the Northeast Region.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing, planning, controlling and directing all activities to ensure the safest, most efficient and economical manner of product distribution consistent with customer service requirements and operating goals. 
  • Preparing and administering capital and expense budgets for the respective fleets and participating in resolution of labor relations issues is a must.
  • Overall responsibility for emergency operation of assigned transportation Fleets affected by work stoppages, supply disruptions, etc. 
  • Developing and implementing new or improved safety and operating techniques for increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs within his/her area of responsibility.
  • Communicating with other departments such as Safety, Sales, Credit, and Central Scheduling
  • Understanding other operating requirements, i.e., equipment specs, engineering, capital projects, etc. that impact operations.
  • Environmentally oriented and possessing a good working knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations, which apply to the petroleum industry in the handling and transporting of petroleum products. 
  • Possess a hands-on working knowledge of automation systems as existing computer operations are vital to the overall distribution effort in coordinating customer deliveries from the central scheduling organization.
  • Responsibility for 100 to 150 people, $25M in Expense and $1M Capital.

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills.  Demonstrated mechanical, administrative, analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Computer literate.
