POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for fuel supply contract related activities and negotiations with dealer customers to ensure adherence to established laws, regulations and Company processes, policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Draft, review, and negotiate dealer and distributor contracts, amendments, terminations, deeds of trust, promissory notes and ancillary documents
· Possess and maintain strong professional knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and legal risks
· Manage the contract lifecycle by ensuring compliance with process metrics, assist with issues, escalations, and obtaining necessary approvals and signatures
Prepare legal correspondence such as violation and default notices, terminations and renewals of contracts
Prepare monthly, quarterly and/or ad hoc reports for various internal customers such as Accounting, Internal Audit, and Executive Administration.
Update document repository with any new, amended and/or changed documents and data; maintain proper filing of records for various audit purposes
Research and respond to internal and external inquiries
Assist with corporate or dealer closings, as needed, drafting, reviewing and notarizing documents, reviewing file and/or materials, or answering questions
Collaborate with management, counsel, and various departments in establishing and implementing the process and procedures for the integration of the newly acquired contracts, properties, etc.
· Understand and utilize contracting policies and procedures; assist with the development of additional contract procedures and continually strive to improve effectiveness of the contract function.
· Research and review customer corporate documents
· Maintain proper filing of records for various audit purposes
· Coordinate with internal customers to resolve customer and internal business issues
· Work as a team in achieving Company objectives
· Perform other relevant functions as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required
Required
1-4 years experience in contract management environment
Bachelor’s degree is required
Paralegal studies and/or nationally recognized contract administration certification, or equivalent degree
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with staff, management, customers and vendors.
Self-starter and ability to self-manage
Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential
Ability to work independently and in a group environment with strong interpersonal and team working skills
Preferred
Prior experience in wholesale fuel distribution business
Transactional experience reviewing and preparing real estate documents, closing instructions, and dealing with attorneys, title companies and lenders; lease administration
Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
Should have good PC skills to include all MS Office products and Salesforce.
Must possess sound reasoning skills and be able to multi-task and maintain focus while sometimes working in high pressure situations.
