Sr. Manager Operations - Linden Terminal
Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bulk Storage Sr. Terminal Manager to oversee the efficient and safe operation of our Linden oil and gas bulk storage facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE) regulations, overseeing the maintenance of terminal infrastructure, and optimizing storage capacity. This position requires a deep understanding of the oil and gas terminal and pipeline industry, strong leadership, and excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the bulk storage terminal, ensuring all activities align with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Supervise the storage, handling, and transportation of bulk liquid hydrocarbons including crude oil, refined products, and other related materials.
- Optimize storage capacities, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the efficient flow of products to meet client and operational demands.
- Ensure smooth loading and unloading operations and manage associated logistics.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance (HSE):
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring that all terminal activities comply with HSE guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Enforce and monitor the implementation of safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and drills to mitigate hazards and improve operational safety.
- Ensure environmental compliance by monitoring emissions, waste disposal, and spill prevention measures.
- Maintenance and Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of storage tanks, pipelines, pumps, and other terminal equipment.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and contractors to ensure the terminal is in optimal condition for continuous operation.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and avoid costly repairs.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor terminal staff, providing guidance on daily operations, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and promote employee development through training programs.
- Ensure all team members are adequately trained on relevant equipment and safety protocols.
- Regulatory and Reporting Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of product movements, inventory levels, and compliance reports.
- Ensure adherence to local, regional, and international regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Prepare and submit regular operational and safety reports to senior management.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate with external contractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring all required licenses and permits are up-to-date.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Assist in preparing and managing the terminal’s budget, ensuring effective cost control and optimization of operational resources.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or operational efficiency.

Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Hazwoper training
Experience Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in oil and gas terminal operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- In-depth knowledge of oil and gas bulk storage, logistics, and Health, Environmental and Safety regulations
- Strong technical understanding of terminal infrastructure, including storage tanks, pumps, pipelines, and safety systems
- Proven experience in team leadership, employee development, and operations management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively
- Strong customer focus and ability to generate entrepreneurial opportunities for the terminal
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to fully utilize systems and software related to the business functions of the terminal including SAP, Top Tech, and Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of terminal automation and control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with terminal gain / loss, storage and throughput allocation, and stockholder and customer setups
- Understand financials of terminal operation including EBIDTA, Operating Expense (Opex), Cost of Goods Sold (COGs), Revenue, and Margin

· climb up to 12 48-foot tall tanks per day,
· walk up to 2 miles at a time and also be able to enter above ground storage tanks through manways that are 24 inches or larger.
