Supervisor - Maintenance
Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of maintenance personnel and contractors involved in both routine and non-routine pipeline maintenance activities within designated geographic areas. The role encompasses the management of maintenance operations for pump stations, valve sites, and all other pipeline-related assets, ensuring the efficient and effective upkeep of company infrastructure.
Major Accountabilities:
· Supervise and assign work to maintenance employees and contractors, ensuring efficient and safe execution of tasks.
· Manage and inspect projects from start to completion, ensuring adherence to schedule and quality standards.
· Determine the required manpower, materials, equipment, and supplies for each project.
· Direct maintenance activities for assigned crafts, including heavy equipment operations, welding, and other associated hot work.
· Conduct weld inspections to ensure welds are functional and free of defects.
· Ensure that company and contract maintenance employees are comply with all safety policies, processes, and procedures.
· Manage and maintain the Operator Qualifications (OQ) program for all direct reports.
· Analyze work requests to assess necessary repairs or corrective actions and provide estimates for manpower and material needs.
· Manage the requirements for maintenance materials, warehouse stock, rental equipment, and/or contract services.
· Oversee the training, development, and performance evaluation of maintenance hourly employees in their assigned craft.
· Maintain accurate documentation of repair and maintenance activities, including associated paperwork.
· Attend meetings as needed to support scheduled work and address key maintenance issues.
· Lead toolbox safety meetings and training, ensuring compliance with safety goals and communicating updates to employees.
· Troubleshoot and find cost-efficient solutions to maintenance problems, while implementing safe work practices.
· Perform physical labor related to pipeline repairs, maintenance, and emergency response activities.
· Make accurate decisions and demonstrate leadership in high-pressure situations, maintaining safety as the highest priority.
· Communicate daily with management regarding project progress, updates, and any issues.
· Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations to minimize risk to employees, public safety, and the environment.
· Improve operational and maintenance efficiency through effective facility and equipment management.
Education Requirement:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
· Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Valid CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) or CPWI (Certified Pipeline Welding Inspector) certification is required, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 8 years of related technical experience in pipeline maintenance, including pump stations, terminals, and related equipment.
- Experience managing employees and contractors, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Proficient in weld inspection activities, including visual and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) to ensure weld integrity.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, welding activities, and hot work procedures.
- Familiarity with Operator Qualifications (OQ) programs and maintaining compliance for direct reports.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills in directing craft activities and training employees.
- Experience with analyzing work requests and determining necessary repairs or corrective actions.
- Ability to manage time, priorities, and tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with management and teams.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations, ensuring compliance to reduce safety and environmental risks.
- Must be available to respond to emergency after-hour calls, including weekends and holidays, and be willing to travel overnight 70-80% of the time.
