Terminal Operator
Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. Summary:
The Operator performs multiple functions inland / water side fuel storage facility. This is a 365-day operating facility. Must be flexible and able to work various shifts that will include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
Daily rounds- checking all pumps and equipment for leaks, checking pressures, gauges, charts, all drums and buckets and sample cabinets, valve positions (open and closed)
Unloading trucks at unloading areas- (red dye, gas additive, asphalt additive & ethanol & gasoline trucks, etc.)
Requires PIC training for fueling tugs, barges, sea going vessel receipts for marine front task TWIC Card required.
Unloading rail cars of ethanol setting up for shipping out and receiving cars in.
Processing paperwork and samples from trucks, tugs and tanks (checking for water)
Pulling daily asphalt samples (some samples may require understanding flash, distillation, vapor, octane, etc. and what the min/max are for each)
Tank farm- knowing what products go in each tank, pulling samples and draining water, hand line gauging.
Pipeline line set ups for truck racks, tank transfers, vessel receipts, railcar receipts etc.
Knowledge of Unit operations, Truck Racks, G3, Card Readers, hot oil heater system.
Perform truck rack product tank changes.
Daily outside AVO’s and general maintenance items.
Pumping operations - Transferring products
Gauges products transferred to/from tanks and pipelines
Performs tank to tank lineups, switch and pump tanks as required to move products in/out of storage
Performs tank inspections and prepare records as required
Routine and ongoing daily inspection of facilities including PMO 6 monthly task and inspections.
Sample tanks for testing.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with bulk fuel storage and pipeline operations is a plus
Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solving skills
Ability to multitask within department for instruction and direction
Excellent communication skills
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Driving, walking, standing frequently.
Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
