Position Summary:

The EOIT Commercial Ops group has the primary responsibility capturing all commercial value for Energy Transfers Oklahoma Intrastate Pipeline and Regency Intrastate Pipeline. This includes transportation and storage buys and sells and optimization, and trading activity around equity positions. Responsible for managing portfolio exposure. Articulates fundamental view and market dynamics including supply/demand, pipeline flows, and other relevant areas. Plans and executes position management, position reconciliation, project-oriented work and deal analysis. Extensive knowledge of the natural gas market, gas scheduling, pipeline transportation, capacity release markets, storage, and financial derivatives. Handle complex and escalated issues and plays a major role in daily sourcing optimization. Shares technical knowledge and recommendations to the group on a regular basis. 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyze nominations and system constraints to determine best economic system set-up
  • Analyze maintenance activity for commercial input on timing and impacts
  • Responsible for short term capacity sales on pipeline
  • Develop and initiate optimization opportunities for assigned area.
  • Develop and build relationships with customers and knowledge of Energy Transfers operations to drive new opportunities or optimization efforts.
  • Conduct short-term analysis of commodity markets. Develop a tactical approach on commodity trading and hedging activities.
  • Develop effective tactical plans for assigned book of business for a geographic region
  • Understand the economics and valuation of trading decisions and impacts to daily optimization.
  • Ensure effective and efficient daily system management.
  • Prepare and interpret complex financial and economic models.     

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 2-5 years’ industry related experience.

  • Advanced knowledge, skill, breadth and depth in the natural gas and marketing concepts (as it pertains to area of specialization).
  • Knowledge of complex financial concepts.
  • Knowledge of midstream pipeline scheduling and confirmation process
  • Knowledge of gas pipeline flows in the midcontinent and Haynesville producer regions
  • Strong collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across various levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple responsibilities priorities, tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience; ability to recognize, analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Strong data management skills; ability to audit, format, model and analyze large data sets.
  • Ability to distill complex data into concise and easily understood concepts and recommendations
  • Ability to discern data inaccuracies through technical experience and knowledge
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Strong organization and process improvement skills
  • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of professional responsibility.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, company’s ethics code of conduct and other company policies and procedures.        
  • Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.

 Working Conditions:

 ·         Ability to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.

·         Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines including some nights and weekends.

·         Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.

·         Subject to normal office noise levels.
