Transmix Analyst
Sunoco LP is seeking a highly motivated Analyst to join the Transmix Business Development & Optimization team. This role provides analytical and strategic support to the team, focused on optimizing profitability within Sunoco’s Transmix operations. The Analyst will leverage data analysis, market insights, and operational knowledge to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, cost reduction, and revenue growth. This position reports directly to the Manager, Transmix Business Development & Optimization and is integral to Sunoco’s strategic growth in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, organize, and analyze data related to Transmix operations, including cost metrics, throughput, inventory levels, and margin performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other tools to track KPIs and provide actionable insights for the team.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis activities for the Transmix portfolio.
- Market & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct research on market trends, pricing, and competitive activities relevant to the Transmix business.
- Regularly track and analyze fuel indices, leveraging insights from key benchmarks and pricing cycles to inform pricing strategies and operational adjustments.
- Identify and assess market influences—including regulatory changes and supply chain factors—that impact cost structures and margins, supporting the team’s optimization and business development initiatives.
- Strategic Support
- Assist in evaluating business initiatives, including capacity planning, cost-reduction projects, and other optimization initiatives.
- Support the creation of executive presentations and reports, synthesizing complex data into clear, actionable insights for leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support initiatives related to product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational improvements.
- Project Coordination
- Manage data-related components of projects focused on operational improvement, ensuring all metrics are tracked accurately and timelines are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for data-related inquiries, coordinating with vendors and internal teams as needed.
- Regularly update project documentation, including analysis methods and findings, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders..
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: 2 - 5 years of experience in a data-driven or analytical role, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, or related industries. Exposure to midstream operations, fuel markets, or supply chain analytics is advantageous.
- Technical Skills:
- Distinctive Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with statistical analysis and financial modeling is preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP or other business systems is a plus.
- Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights clearly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
