Position Summary

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering advanced, hands-on training for gas compression systems, troubleshooting, and field operations. This role combines technical expertise with strong instructional skills to develop technician capability, ensure consistent training standards, and support safe, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced, instructor-led training on gas compression operations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex maintenance procedures.

  • Lead hands-on learning sessions using equipment mockups, engines, compressors, and diagnostic tools.

  • Mentor and support technicians and team members.

  • Conduct skills assessments, performance evaluations, and practical competency checks.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to align training with current field practices and equipment updates.

  • Identify skill gaps and provide targeted coaching or remediation.

  • Recommend improvements to training content, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

  • Ensure training environments, tools, and equipment meet safety and operational standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • The Specialist level requires 2-5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • The Sr Specialist level requires 5-8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience in gas compression, mechanical maintenance, field service, or technical operations.

  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.

  • Proven troubleshooting experience with compressors, engines, and related systems.

  • Experience delivering hands-on instruction or mentoring technicians.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and standardized procedures.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a technical trainer, instructor, or field mentor.

  • Advanced expertise in gas compression systems.
