Summary:  The Accountant position will play a key role within the Interstate Gas Financial Reporting Team and will primarily be responsible for annual and quarterly FERC filings for multiple companies, along with GAAP financial statements. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


  • Prepare annual and quarterly FERC filings, including all financial statements and footnotes
  • Preparation of quarterly GAAP financial statements
  • Ability to interface with external auditors and various departments within the company
  • Support special projects or financial analysis when needed by management
 

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2 - 5 years of experience
  • Working proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • Must have strong analytical skills and exhibit an attention to detail

  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and proactively to identify and resolve issues

  • Knowledge of SAP and BPC accounting systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate strongly preferred

  • Oil and gas experience a plus


Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions. 
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
