Summary:  This position will support various enterprise-wide applications, including the creation, maintenance, and archiving of all referential Master Data to ensure integrity and uniformity across all business groups.  Must be comfortable interacting with other departments within the company, external customers and vendors.  

Essential Duties and Responsibiities:  

Administration of several enterprise applications (SAP/IS-OIL, Synthesis, TMW/PEOPLE.NET, PLADS, COINS, PFIS, T4, eXSite, Terminal Smart, and Emerson Pipeline Scheduler). Application Administration includes configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the various system software components. Key components to maintain are system efficiency, performance, and security.

Creation, maintenance, and archiving of all referential / Master Data to ensure integrity and uniformity across all business groups.

Act as liaison with vendors, external customers, and various internal groups (Pipeline operations and Terminals, Crude Trucking, Finance, Business Development, Accounting and IT Systems) on issues and changes to maintain data integrity across all systems.

Document reference data maintenance processes, including any required SOX or control documentation. Must understand and adhere to strict procedures due to financial implications of downstream data. 

Requires interpretation of data request forms and direct interface with internal customer base in order to add and update data elements. Provides support for software upgrades and special projects as needed.

Required to maintain and create documentation of Master Data procedures for all data elements, maintain and create data request forms (both web and excel based) and maintain Master Data web page.

Requirements:  Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements for this position are listed below. 

Must be familiar with data applications; understand and adhere to strict procedures due to financial implications of downstream data; have strong communications skills (verbal and written); and be effective in communicating, coordinating and implementing data updates and adding new data elements.  Strong business computer skills and the ability to learn new tasks efficiently.

High school diploma or equivalent.  Experience commensurate with level below. 

  • Proven analytical and judgment skills; extremely detail-oriented.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, especially Excel with the ability to learn numerous software packages.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills including the ability to positively interface with vendors, contractors, IT, management, and peer
  • Good organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while achieving deadlines and effectively communicating project status. 
  • Be a proactive, solution-oriented self-starter with the ability to quickly assemble the big picture. 
  • Must be willing to provide after-hours support as necessary.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience 
  • The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience  
  • The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience 

Working Conditions:   The work environment characteristics descibed here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  

1.  Usually, normal office working conditions.

2.  Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3.  Occasional overnight travel may be required.
