Summary:
Supports, monitors, executes and assists Encroachment Project Managers to complete small to medium sized Encroachment projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Associate Specialist - Encroachments - reports to the Senior Manager of Encroachments under the Right-of-Way E&C group.
• Verbally communicates with a wide range of people both inside and outside of the organization while assisting Project Managers with project review and execution.
• Works with Project Managers to review, process, and approve plans for third party Encroachment inquiries.
• Assists in reviewing project plans, evaluates details for code compliance, ensures company policy is followed, adheres to industry standards and mandates sound engineering and Right-ofWay principles.
• Procures documents ensuring the protection of corporate assets (land, easements, leases and permits) of easement rights and/or encroachments.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in pipeline and/or facility project experience or in a related area.
- Previous experience in or an understanding of the pipeline industry preferred.
- Proficiency, understanding and knowledge of software including Microsoft products, Micro-station and AutoCAD, Basic Engineering Programs, GIS and Mapping Systems.
- The position requires a candidate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A highly developed ability with PC's and office computer software is required.
- Must be knowledgeable of industry practices, rules and regulations pertaining to encroachments
- Must be a self-starter and self-motivator, ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
- The ability to multi-task during deadlines as well as be flexible as priorities and scopes of work change
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
