Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. The Partnership's midstream operations include an extensive network of approximately 9,500 miles of pipeline and over 100 terminals. This critical infrastructure complements the Partnership's fuel distribution operations, which serve approximately 10,000 convenience stores, independent dealers, commercial customers, and distributors.

Summary:

The position of Specialist - Sales is a key player of the sales team.  This position requires a driven individual with strong business acumen, excellent communication, relationship-building skills, and a passion for growth.  The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support account management activities across the assigned territory by assisting with customer relationships, proposals, and deal coordination while aligning with EBITDA and volume objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Business Development, Pricing, Supply & Trading, Customer Setup, Customer Solutions, and Accounting to ensure efficient customer onboarding and ongoing account support.
  • Assist in gathering market and customer intelligence to support growth initiatives and help identify opportunities within existing and new markets.
  • Help resolve customer inquiries and operational issues in a timely manner while supporting overall customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in customer meetings and travel as needed to support relationship management and business development efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support Business Development efforts by identifying prospects in growth markets and assisting with opportunities to grow volume and EBITDA.

  • Assist in evaluating customer needs and coordinating solutions that align with Sunoco financial objectives.

  • Maintain and update sales activity, opportunities, and performance metrics within Salesforce and other internal systems.

  • Coordinate with internal teams (Supply, Trading, Operations, Pricing, and Customer Solutions) to support proposals, contracts, and account onboarding.

  • Help manage and resolve customer inquiries and operational issues, including billing, loading, and drafting concerns.

  • Support account growth by tracking opportunities, preparing proposals, and assisting with RFPs, bids, and contract documentation.

  • Monitor market conditions, terminal supply dynamics, and customer activity to support territory performance and strategic planning.

  • Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and internal communications to support relationship management and growth initiatives.

  • Ensure clear communication of sales activities, pipeline updates, and market insights to management and internal stakeholders.

  • Understands daily hedge forecast model, supply position, and sales volume at terminal level, and territory market dynamics, and reacts timely to changes across these platforms. 

  • Effectively utilizes technology, programs, and platforms (i.e. Salesforce, Right Angle, Concur, etc.) for all phases of the sales process.

 

Requirements:

·     Knowledge of SAP, Right Angle, Salesforce, Excel, and Concur preferred.

·     Travel 25 - 50% of the time, some overnight, some multiple nights in a row.

·     Complete all travel and expense related reports.

 

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Associate Specialist level require 0-2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • The Specialist level requires 2-5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • The Senior Specialist level requires 5-8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • The Lead Specialist level requires 8+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree preferred.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Occasional overnight travel is REQUIRED.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
