Summary:
Responsible to produce Mechanical/Piping (P&ID, Piping, Civil & Structural) construction drawings and as-built deliverables for compressor stations, pump stations, meter/regulator and pipeline facility projects. Specific duties include drawing generation from field sketches provided by project engineering or field operations. Will also produce construction drawings for bid packages and as-builts from red-lined construction drawings provided by engineering or construction team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be proficient at reading drawings, piping design drawings and material lists associated with pipeline facilities (compressor, meter/regulator, valve, and launcher/receiver sites).

  • Ability to create construction and as-built packages that include plot plans, piping plans, P&IDs, piping isometrics and civil layouts for natural gas and hazardous liquids facilities.
  • Review project drawing specifications
  • Review design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information.
  • Create and revise P&IDs
  • Incorporate redlines to create as-built drawings.
  • Create Drawings in AutoCad, Plant3D and CadWorx.
  • Develop Bills of Material relative to design documentation.
  • Ability to Check Drawings Dimensionally

Required Experience:

  • Title conferred will be based on candidates’ years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of DOT 192 / 195 compression / pump facilities
  •  Knowledge of NGL processing facilities and process equipment.
  •  Proficient using AutoCad 2021, Plant3D 2021, CadWorx 2021, and   Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) 

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Drafter level requires 0-2 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Senior Drafter level requires 2-5 years of relevant job-related experience
  • The Designer level requires 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience
  •  The Senior Designer level requires 8-10 years of relevant job-related experience 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to develop design CAD files or drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.
  • Read and understand system P&IDs related to pipeline and facility layouts and process equipment.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-Starter with good organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be able to perform task with minimal guidance or supervision.
  •  Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical training or associate degree in related field preferred
