Position Summary

The Director of Corporate Development & Planning plays a key role in supporting USA Compression’s long‑term growth strategy. This position leads strategic planning, corporate development initiatives, and enterprise‑level financial analysis that guide decisions across our fleet, operations, and commercial organization. The role partners closely with Executive Leadership to evaluate market opportunities, assess capital deployment, and ensure the company is positioned for sustainable, disciplined growth. The ideal candidate brings strong financial and analytical capability, a deep understanding of the compression services business, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Insights

  • Lead the annual strategic planning process, including market outlooks, competitive assessments, and long‑range financial modeling.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer activity, and regulatory developments that impact compression demand and fleet strategy.
  • Provide data‑driven insights to support decisions around fleet mix, horsepower deployment, refurbishment programs, and capital allocation.
  • Partner with Operations and Commercial leadership to align strategic priorities with field realities and customer needs.

Corporate Development & M&A

  • Identify and evaluate acquisition, divestiture, and partnership opportunities that support USA Compression’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead financial modeling, valuation work, due diligence, and integration planning for potential transactions.
  • Prepare investment cases and recommendations for Executive Leadership and the Board.
  • Maintain relationships with advisors, banks, and external stakeholders involved in transaction processes.

Capital Planning & Portfolio Optimization

  • Support capital planning efforts, including new unit purchases, rebuild programs, and customer‑specific project economics.
  • Develop ROI analyses, utilization forecasts, and scenario models to optimize fleet performance and capital efficiency.
  • Partner with Operations to evaluate asset deployment strategies that maximize uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Commercial Support & Market Analysis

  • Provide analytical support to the Commercial team on pricing, contract structures, and customer profitability.
  • Evaluate new market segments, geographic expansion opportunities, and service line adjacencies.
  • Support strategic customer discussions with clear, data‑driven insights.

Executive Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare Board materials, strategic updates, and investment proposals that clearly communicate key insights and recommendations.
  • Present complex financial and operational data in a concise, executive‑ready format.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, CFO, COO, and Commercial leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate development, strategic planning, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance.
  • Experience in energy services, midstream, or compression strongly preferred.
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Strong understanding of capital‑intensive, fleet‑based service models.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience preparing materials for senior leadership and Boards.

  • Corporate office–based role with periodic travel to field locations, customer sites, or acquisition targets.
  • High‑visibility position with regular interaction with Executive Leadership and cross‑functional teams.
