The Director of Unbranded Sales, manages and grows the existing book of over 1.2 billion gallons and over $2.2 Billion in revenue.  The position will manage a team of ~12, that assures budgeted EBITDA expectations are exceeded.  The team will be responsible for retaining and growing the existing book of customers by assuring customer issues are resolved quickly, forecasting demand to assure supply is available, optimizing earnings by working with pricing and establishing off rack discounts to assure customers are always buying product, and handle setup of new customers for the business development team. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fostering relationships with over 600 customers daily to drive sales growth and assure EBITDA achievement via rack, off rack and to make daily deals
  • Send volume forecasts to supply to assure we have the right products in the right places to optimize profitability.  Work with supply when allocations tighten to assure we are maximizing earnings across the organization. 
  • Assure customer issues are resolved quickly by escalating issues to cross functional support teams for resolution.  Assure customers have a smooth transaction every time they buy from Sunoco. 
  • Handle setup and onboarding of new customers from the business development team.  This team will assure setup is handled properly and that all customers are getting all the information they need to buy product and get invoiced properly. 
  • Create new tools/training that drive sales growth across the unbranded organization.  

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • 10+ years of experience in refined product sales space
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Ability to lead a large team to exceed earnings metrics
  • Advanced computer, communication, negotiation, management, and analytical skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Sales experience in the refined product space
  • Understanding of refined product racks and the competitive environment in the unbranded fuel space
  • History of creating new tools/training meant to drive increased sales across a large organization
  • Negotiation skills, comfort working with high level executives
  • MBA Preferred or post grad business certifications

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Travel will be required.
  • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
