Electrical Engineering Specialist
Required Experience (commensurate with job level)
- High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant work experience
- 10+ years of operations or maintenance experience in pipeline facilities or related environments.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices and applicable codes.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and MS Project.
Preferred Experience
- Broad knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- 3–5 years of experience in pipeline, midstream, or refinery environments.
- Strong emphasis on safety, operations, budget, and schedule performance.
- Expertise with instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems, including PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, motors, analyzers, and low/medium‑voltage distribution.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, electrical modeling tools, and control system software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrated experience applying industry standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, <5kV low voltage, 5–15kV medium voltage).
- Understanding of utility company processes for power load requirements.
Working Conditions
- Ability to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Occasional visits to industrial or manufacturing settings, which may involve exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, and loud equipment; appropriate PPE required.
- Travel to project sites and vendor facilities (approximately 50%).
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience
- The Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience
- The Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
