Engineer - Gas Operations Data
Requirements: Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering subject area from an accredited college or university. Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, and Chemical preferred.
- 3-6 years of experience developing traditional BI solutions within the Microsoft BI stack (MS SQL Server/SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) and well as experience implementing modern BI Solutions in the MS Azure BI stack.
- Fluency in MS SQL query language, ability to write stored procedures, views, indexes, etc
- Ability to identify and implement programing logic and/or application improvements
- Understanding of cloud and distributed systems principles
- Knowledge of analytical/programming languages tools (eg. Java, R, Python)
Preferred Skills:
- Basic understanding of fluid flow in pipelines and/or industry experience such as crude, natural gas, NGL storage or other energy transportation.
Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
