Summary

Sunoco LP is seeking one CAP intern to work up to 30 hours per week in our offices at the Shops at Park Lane (Central Expwy 75 and Park Lane).  This part time temporary position will begin May 2024 through July/August 2024.  

Project Title:  Fuel Margin Analysis Modeling for 500 Sunoco Gas Stations

Project DetailsBuild an Excel model with current and historical Sales and Cost of Sales data for each fuel grade at 500 Sunoco Gas Stations.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  •  Extracting Sales and Cost of Sales data from SAP.  
  • Organizing data by store location, grade of fuel, sales, cost of sales.
  • Calculating margin (cents per gallon) and compare to previous months
  • Analyzing to identify anomalies based in trend data to determine whether sales or cost of sales is outside of normal parameters.

Bonus Opportunity:  build dashboard in Power BI to display data for all 500 locations. 

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Currently an undergraduate student
  • Preferably majoring in Accounting or a related major
  • Expected graduation date of May 2026 or May 2027
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Highly motivated and team-oriented
  • Detail-oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in use of Excel, and interest in further expanding Excel skills
      

Working Conditions: 

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

1.   Usually, normal office working conditions.

2.   Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

3.   Occasional overnight travel may be required.

4.   Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
