Summary:

Monitor and control the Florida Gas Transmission pipeline system and perform engineering modeling to optimize operational efficiencies.              



Essential duties and responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duties satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below: 

  • Monitor and control the Florida Gas Transmission natural gas pipeline system.  Monitor pressures, linepack, receipts and deliveries to maximize operational efficiencies.  
  • Determine system requirements and changes needed to maintain customer receipts and deliveries.  
  • Work with field operations personnel, resolve customer problems and implement outage coordination plans.  
  • Use engineering type skills to optimize interstate (Texas to Florida) natural gas pipeline/horsepower system.  
  • Learn and use SCADA system and real-time pipeline modeling software to analyze and optimize pipeline/horsepower system.  
 
 

Required education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

 

  • Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Level B requires a minimum of 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience
  • Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience

Schedule Requirements:

  • The Gas Control team provides 24 hour, 365-day service in a dynamic, high-pressure work environment. 
  • Position requires working a 12-hour rotating shift with occasional overtime on short notice.

 

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Usually, normal office working conditions.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% pf the time due to prolonger periods of sitting or standing. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.
