Job Description

Join the Enterprise Business Intelligence team as the engineer responsible for its DevOps/DataOps platform. This role owns and evolves the GitHub Enterprise–based, Terraform-powered platform that governs and enables Databricks Asset Bundle (DAB) deployments, while building reusable agents, skills, recipes, and automation for Enterprise BI and other data product teams.

Responsibilities

•    Own, operate, and continuously improve the Enterprise BI DevOps/DataOps platform supporting Azure Databricks.
•    Engineer the GitHub Enterprise and Terraform foundations, reusable workflows, controls, and configuration-as-code that provision and govern the platform.
•    Enable and enforce consistent Databricks deployments through DAB standards, templates, validation, CI/CD, and release guardrails.
•    Build and refine reusable agents, skills, recipes, and automation that accelerate development, deployment, support, and platform self-service.
•    Partner with Enterprise BI developers to support their delivery practice, remove tooling and platform impediments, and turn recurring needs into reusable capabilities.
•    Onboard IT and citizen-developer teams to the DevOps estate as governed data product teams within the data mesh and federated operating model.
•    Maintain platform reliability, security, and governance across Unity Catalog, identities, policies, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
•    Manage incidents, requests, problems, and production changes in ServiceNow using ITIL-aligned risk, testing, approval, communication, rollback, and knowledge controls.

Day in the Life

•    Start the morning: Review the health of the Databricks platform and delivery estate, overnight pipelines, ServiceNow priorities, and upcoming changes.
•    Support the practice: Work with Enterprise BI developers to resolve GitHub, Terraform, DAB, CI/CD, access, or platform blockers.
•    Build and refine: Improve reusable workflows, modules, agents, skills, recipes, validation, and guardrails based on recurring team needs.
•    Enable new teams: Guide an IT or citizen-development team through governed onboarding to the platform and its DevOps/DataOps delivery patterns.
•    Close the loop: Coordinate dependencies, document decisions, and move incidents, requests, and production changes to completion.

Essential Skills / Qualifications

•    3+ years of hands-on Terraform experience with modules, remote state, and multi-environment deployments
•    Strong GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, and Git experience with reusable workflows, branch controls, and PR-based CI/CD
•    Azure Identity & Security (Entra ID, Service Principals, Managed Identities, Key Vaults, RBAC) management.
•    Azure Databricks platform experience, including Unity Catalog, workspaces, clusters, jobs, and Databricks Asset Bundles
•    Python and YAML/config-as-data experience for provisioning, cross-repository automation, and reusable developer tooling
•    Experience creating reusable automation, agents, skills, recipes, or comparable enablement capabilities for developer teams
•    Working knowledge of data mesh, domain-oriented data products, federated governance, and team onboarding
•    Strong platform troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and developer-support skills

Preferred Skills

•    Enterprise-scale data mesh, federated governance, or distributed-team enablement experience
•    Databricks REST/SDK APIs, SCIM, Permissions APIs, or OAuth M2M experience
•    GitHub App governance or multi-stack Terraform CI/CD experience
•    Experience with PostgreSQL, Databricks Apps, React, or Python app frameworks such as Streamlit, Reflex, or Dash
•    Experience in energy, midstream, or another FERC or SOX regulated industry
