Summary
Energy Transfer is looking for a Lead Accountant to join our NGL Pipeline Revenue accounting team in Houston. We encourage a culture of inquiry by always asking why, transforming data into meaningful information, and leveraging technology to streamline our processes
The NGL Pipeline Revenue Accounting team performs end-to-end accounting and analysis for the transportation of natural gas liquids (NGLs) on our Gulf Coast NGL pipelines. The essential duties of this position are designed to ensure that all revenue activities are captured accurately in the general ledger
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in their respective area
Oversee collaboration between accounting and internal teams, including scheduling, commercial, operations, contract administration, and treasury, ensuring alignment with operational needs and strategic support through data-driven insights
Drive innovation by leading projects focused on automation, process improvement, change management, and system upgrades to improve accounting efficiency and processes
Manage the development and maintenance of relationships with vendors, customers, shippers, and 3rd party pipelines, driving timely payments and precise margin calculations
Ensure the integrity of financial data by reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and leveraging technical accounting skills to analyze trends in P&L and balance sheet accounts while identifying opportunities for process improvements through innovative solutions

Requirements: Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance)
Experience: 8+ years
Required Skills: Proficiency in Excel required
Technical Skills: Experience with Power BI or Alteryx is a plus
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SAP, Entero, or other Quorum software is preferred
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
The Senior Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree and 5-8 years of relevant job-related experience
The Lead Accountant/Analyst level requires a bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant job-related experience
