Lead Designer I&E
Education Requirements:
· High School Diploma required.
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or Electrical/Instrumentation Technology is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
· Preferred 10 years of design experience in electrical/instrumentation/controls (EIC) required.
· Experience in terminal/pipeline/ engineering environment highly preferred. Previous leadership responsibilities preferred.
· Experience in industrial electrical/instrumentation construction with drafting knowledge is preferred.
· Must possess and maintain TWIC certification.
· Proficiency creating design drawing packages using AutoCAD.
· Preferred experience in CadWorx 3D and CadWorx P&ID.
· PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Project, Outlook, and Excel.
· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail with the ability to proof work for accuracy, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet deadlines as required.
· Knowledge of motor control components and schematic drawing development and for across-the-line starters and variable frequency drives up through 5kV.
· ISA, NEC and API 500 code knowledge. This includes extensive experience in hazardous (classified) locations (Class 1 areas).
· PLC cabinet design and wiring development, industrial networking and HMI systems.
· Piping and Instrument Diagram symbology (P&ID’s), I&E installation detail drawings, one-line diagrams, cable schedules, instrument plans, PLC panel layout drawings, loop diagrams, ISA data sheets, etc.
· Instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and metering and analytical instrumentation.
· Electrical power distribution (12.47-34.5kV) is beneficial but not required.
· Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
· Verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills capable of taking initiative and making decisions.
