Key Business Objectives:

Responsible for the oversight and process of make ready, reconfiguration, preservation, and short / long term storage of USA Compression idle equipment. This position reports to the Supervisor – Make Ready. All USA Compression employees are responsible for maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow all safety and environmental policies.

  • Oversee the completion of preservation on idle units as they return to the storage yards with documentation completed.

  • Assist Supervisor with maintaining scheduling of re-preserving units that remain idle on a 180-day rotation.

  • Ability to assist multiple technicians during the repair of packages and make ready for redeployment into active status.

  • Perform major and minor scheduled maintenance procedures on idle units as necessary along with completing associated documentation.

  • Reconfigure compressor cylinder arrangements as required to meet new contract needs along with completing associated documentation.

  • Assist other Technicians with repairs of Fixed Assets Inventory along with proper storage of the inventory and completing associated documentation.

  • General housekeeping by helping to keep shops, warehouse facilities, and yards free from trash and debris.

  • Assist Supervisor in the scheduling of loading and unloading units as they enter and leave the storage yards.  Safely operate truck mounted cranes, forklifts and other portable lifting equipment.

  • Ability to effectively assist other Make Ready Technicians on daily assignments and in a timely manner.

  • Maintain company vehicle according to company guidelines.

  • Help maintain parts inventory for shops and storage yards.

  • Keep units clean and maintain safe working conditions.

  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

  • Full-time hourly position

Skills/Capabilities and Education:

  • Technical or trade school certification or additional work experience in related field.

  • Preferred at least 2 years of experience in natural gas compression.

  • Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression. Good communication/interface skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other tech teams.

  • Ability to operate independently with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to guide and assist others through day-to-day activities.

  • High degree of mechanical ability.

  • Experience reading and understanding technical manuals.

  • Experience in configuring natural gas compression equipment.

  • Ability to work extended hours.

  •  Ability to understand written and verbal communication from the company and supervisor including training, procedures, instructions, etc.

  • Applicant must have the ability to legally work in the U.S.

     

Working Conditions:

  • Periodic lifting requirements in excess of 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven and varied terrain, climb ladders and stairs; and stoop, squat, kneel, crouch and crawl depending on the task requirements.

  • Exposure to extremes in temperature and weather conditions depending upon assigned location.

  • Some exposure to high noise levels in excess of 85dBA that require ear protection, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals and materials.

  • There is a strong emphasis on safety while working with heavy equipment and machinery.
