The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in environmental science or environmental engineering; consideration for education and related energy experience; midstream, pipeline construction and gathering experience preferred
  • 8+ years of experience managing relationships with Regulatory Agencies; a minimum of 5 years as company representative with provincial regulatory agencies and departments (such as the AER, Environment and DFO)
  • Exceptional understanding of regulatory laws, regulations, directives, processes, policies, compliance, and best practices, paired with business acumen to execute in a complex joint venture and integrated infrastructure capital project environment, as well as support for midstream operations
  • Experience with air emissions, greenhouse gas, major infrastructure, stakeholder engagement, project development, flaring and venting, sulfur recovery, decommissioning, reclamation and abandonment preferred
  • Previous responsibility for the review and evaluation of major capital investment projects; representing organization on major construction projects to provide guidance for regulatory and environment components
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Someone who is open and flexible, with an engaging style and credible enthusiasm, polished, tenacious who will foster internal and external relationships based on trust, respect and rapport
  • Supervisory responsibilities; support development of talent by mentoring and guiding direct reports
