Manager - Accounting

Key Business Objectives:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our company. This position will be responsible for all aspects of accounting, from managing the general ledger and subledger reconciliations to preparing financial statements and reports and will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SOX internal controls, policies of the company, and maintaining the integrity of our financial data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger and supervising accountants.
· Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.
· Monitor and analyze department work to maintain and develop efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
· Advise staff regarding the handling of routine and non-routine transactions.
· Manage and lead the accounting team including training and performance evaluations.
· Supervise and participate in the monthly close process, including review account analyses and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and preparation/review of various journal entries. Ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
· Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
· Prepare financial covenant compliance documentation as required by the credit facility.
· Assist in analyzing financial data and provide insights to management to support decision-making.
· Ensure proper general ledger supporting documentation with adequate explanation is provided to external auditors in a timely manner.
· Coordinate and communicate accounting matters with operating departments as needed.
· Ensure proper records are retained such that testing of internal and external audit is adequate and complete.
· Cross-train duties of transaction-based accounting functions and act as backup for those functions as necessary.
· Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Skills/Capabilities and Education:
· Undergraduate or MBA in Accounting is preferred, or equivalent work experience
· CPA is preferred.
· 8+ years of public or private industry experience with progressively responsible financial management roles.
· Experience with fixed asset/heavy equipment industry preferred.
· Experience with SAP system preferred.
· Advanced Excel skills and additional skills with all other Microsoft Office products.
· Ability to understand written and verbal communication including training, procedures, instructions, etc.
· SOX internal control design, testing, and remediation experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
· Periodic lifting requirement of up to 25 lbs.
· The incumbent spends most of the time sitting or standing in a comfortable position with ample opportunity to move about.
· Working conditions are normal office setting with hybrid options available.
· Ability to quickly acclimate to complex financial accounting applications.
· Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels of an organization.
· Possess a creative approach to problem-solving, a high aptitude for management, planning, and analyzing business situations.
· Commitment to process improvement.
· Ability to self-motivate and function independently.
