Manager - Construction
Summary:
The construction manager leads a team of construction professionals within a defined area to ensure safe, efficient, and on time/on budget execution of construction activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of gas and crude oil gathering projects.
- Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.
- Manage the daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of assigned construction and inspection staff so projects are completed successfully and objectives are achieved.
- Work with Commercial, System Planning and Engineering to review construction scope.
- Responsible for area construction activities being compliant with the appropriate standards, procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Effectively manage the bid process, selection of contractors, and the use of service providers to ensure cost effectiveness and compliance with the policies and procedures.
- Manage productive and cooperative working relationships with other departments so project requirements are met.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8+ years related experience which should include a good knowledge of Industry Practices, construction standards, welding procedures, pipeline maintenance and operations.
- Microsoft Office and SAP
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:

- Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Driving, walking, and standing frequently
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
- Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
